A teacher must put limits on the relationship when he she thinks the situation can affect him her, because the student might think has she is doing something right but he’s she’s not, and the teacher has to be able to detect that and act in consequence. I think each student is different so the teacher can be different with each one depending on how the student is meaning, maturity level, responsibility, age etc.
There’s some students which who the teacher will be able to have a much more open relationship for example the teacher might be able to gout with the student on weekends, maybe go out and party, but the teacher always has to know that he she is responsible for his action, because a bad action can affect him her really bad and even get him her fired from his her job. The other type of kid is the one which who the teacher will be able to have a cool relationship but just keeping it inside school, because of the students maturity it is impossible to go anywhere further than that, it will just stay in classroom jokes, and inside school activities, maybe some counseling or helping the student with some personal aspects but that’s probably the furthest the teacher will be able to go with the student.
So if you are a student it is better if you have a good relationship with your teacher, trust me this can help you allot in school and sometimes even help you pass some classes.
